The cheapest way to send a branded client report, ranked by cost

Search this and every result is a roundup of paid reporting platforms, ranked from expensive to slightly-less-expensive. Nobody adds up what a branded report costs if you don't buy a subscription at all — and for most freelancers reporting to two or three clients a month, that's the option that actually wins.

What "cheapest" actually means here

"Branded" just means your logo and colors on the document your client opens, instead of a generic export. It doesn't require a platform subscription — it requires a template or a tool that lets you drop your branding in once. Once you separate those two ideas, the price range gets a lot wider than the roundups suggest.

The software price ladder

Among tools built specifically for white-labeled reporting, the entry points (checked September 2026) are AgencyAnalytics at roughly $20/month per client billed annually, DashThis at $44/month for three dashboards, SocialPilot's Premium plan at $85/month for branded PDF reports, and Whatagraph starting near €699/month for larger operations. All of them assume you're paying every month whether you send one report or ten.

That's the right tool if you're running enough client volume to make a flat monthly fee cheap per-report. It's the wrong shape if you're a solo operator with two or three clients — you're paying $44 to $85 a month for reporting capacity you use a fraction of.

The DIY template route

The cheapest software-adjacent option is a one-time purchase: branded report templates on Canva, Etsy, and similar marketplaces run around $5 to $15 for a set of editable slides. You buy once, duplicate it every month, swap in your logo and colors, and you own it forever — no subscription.

The tradeoff is what a template can't do: it doesn't pull your numbers in for you. You're still opening each platform's analytics, copying figures by hand into text boxes, and hoping you didn't transpose a digit going from one screen to the other. A $7 template makes the report look right. It doesn't make filling it in any faster.

Doing it with no tool at all

The genuinely free version: a Google Doc or Slides deck you built once, your logo pasted in, and the numbers retyped from each platform's dashboard every month. Zero dollars, and plenty of freelancers do exactly this. The cost isn't money — it's the hour or two per client spent rebuilding the same layout and manually copying figures that already exist in a CSV you could have exported instead.

So what's actually cheapest

By pure dollars, doing it by hand or with a one-time template wins — nothing beats $0 or a $7 purchase you make once. Where the calculation changes is what you're trading for that: your own time, every single month, and no automatic column-to-metric matching if you're pulling numbers off more than one platform.

This is the gap Poststeady is built for. It's free for two reports a month, forever — not a trial, full features, no watermark — which puts it at the same price as the DIY route for anyone sending a couple of reports a month, minus the retyping. You upload the CSVs you already export, it maps the columns to the right metrics (it recognizes well over a hundred header variants across platforms, so "Amount Spent" and "Cost" land on the same number instead of two), and you get a three-page report with your logo and brand color already applied. Past two reports a month, it's $19/month unlimited — still under every subscription tool in the ladder above.

The honest tradeoff: it's not a scheduler, and it doesn't connect to your client's accounts. You export a CSV every month; nothing updates itself in between. If that's a fair trade for not retyping numbers by hand, it's the cheapest branded option that isn't also the slowest one.
